Corporate Responsibility and Global Sustainability

With the aggravation of climate change, the main challenge for current global sustainability is whether the corporates can realize their overall responsibilities – achieve net zero emissions and social common good while making profits. This course is based on many corporate cases, with different sustainability themes, teaching forms and materials, so as to inspire the students to recognize the relevance of companies to sustainability.

Social Innovation Hackathon

This course intends to foster students’ capability in social innovation and problem solving. Targeting at real social or environmental problems, student teams with interdisciplinary backgrounds need to brainstorm and interact with practitioners and product/service users through a series of design-thinking workshops so as to propose a feasible prototype, innovative business model, or potential solution. This course might cooperate with teachers and students teams in Chinese Medical University.

Social Innovation and Design Thinking

Through social innovation and design thinking procedures, this course guides students how to be actively learning and systematic thinking, teamwork through creative thinking with different professional backgrounds, and to use new technology and business models to solve complex problems, in order to face the real competition in the future.

Internship of Social Innovation

Teacher(s): 薛珍華

The goal of this course is to enable students to engage in internships of specific fields after completing the three cross-disciplinary courses: Corporate Responsibility and Global Sustainability, Social Innovation and Design Thinking, and Social Innovation Hackathon. Students are expected to integrate their own professional trainings, to conceive innovative methods and strategies via the process of design thinking, and to solve the social problems they are concerned about. In this course, students will be trained to design innovative solutions via steps of design thinking so as to solve problems.
