Feng Chia University and Micron Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Deepen Industry-Academia Cooperation and Cultivate Semiconductor Talent
Feng Chia University and the global semiconductor leader Micron Technology recently held a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, represented by Lu Dong-Hui, Chairman of Micron Taiwan, and Vey Wang, President of Feng Chia University. This collaboration aims to deepen cooperation in talent training, technical exchanges, and industry-academia projects, injecting new momentum into the future development of the semiconductor industry.
Through this collaboration, Micron will provide advanced memory manufacturing and industry-related expertise, combined with Feng Chia University's academic resources and technical platforms, to jointly cultivate semiconductor professionals with international competitiveness. The cooperation will focus on memory technology development and expand to thematic talent cultivation for students, providing internships and potential employment opportunities, strengthening the close connection between academia and industry, and promoting the overall development of Taiwan's semiconductor industry. At the signing ceremony, Lu Dong-Hui, Chairman of Micron Taiwan, stated that this year marks the 30th anniversary of Micron's establishment in Taiwan. Micron continues to invest and deepen its roots in Taiwan, becoming the largest foreign investor in Taiwan, with Taichung being a significant operational base. The collaboration with Feng Chia University is of great significance to Micron, representing the integration of industry and academia and demonstrating Micron's commitment and mission to cultivate semiconductor talent.
In his speech, Vey Wang, President of Feng Chia University, mentioned that Feng Chia University has been established for 63 years, with industry-academia energy reaching 1 billion. The collaboration with Micron is an opportunity for the university, and it is expected that after this signing and visit, various modes of cooperation, joint employment of industry experts, and talent cultivation will be launched, hoping for sustainable and long-term cooperation between the two parties.
